In 1630, the scholar Billie Jansen published a forbidden text. It was meant to warn against the practice of humour magic—the manipulation of blood, phlegm, and bile to achieve frightful power. Instead, it inspired a century of revolution, exsanguination, and secret societies. Jansen died regretting his work. The Church of the God Above burned every copy they could find, seeking to eradicate the work from history. 

They were unsuccessful. 

Presented here, entirely unedited and unabridged, is the 300th anniversary edition of Jansen's original text, complete with period diagrams, historical footnotes, and a preface by the current archivist of New Olandija Academy.
